Team Sardar vs Team Somji On paper this one looks like it will be a Team Sardar victory. Team Sardar won all six league games between the two teams. Team Sardar boast the best defensive record in the league and have the leagues top goalscorer. Team Somji however have competed well with Team Sardar in all six league meetings losing by a narrow margin and usually by conceding late goals, the key for Team Somji will be concentration. Team Sardar Key Men: Abbas Hasham – 29 goals in 16 games says it all, if Abbas is on form he will be a handful for the Team Somji defence and his goals are vital to Team Sardar. Payam Zahedi – Links the defence and midfield well, plays as an anchorman and his performances this season have helped Team Sardar with their defensive record. Hassan Syed – Has come into his own in the second half of the season, nice close control helps him to go past players and has a shot. Good vision to look for that killer ball for the strikers to pounce on. Team Somji Key Men: Abbas Pardhan – With the absence of Azeem Amir through injury a lot of the creative midfield play will have to come through Abbas. Naseer Najafi – Naseer will have to be a rock at the back for Team Somji to have a chance in the playoff’s. He will also have to push forward when possible to use his thunderous right boot which we all witnessed last season. Hassanain Somji – The keeper and captain will have a big say in Team Somji’s playoff hopes this season. If Hassanain can show the form he showed in last season’s playoff winning side then Team Sardar will have to be at their best to score past him. Team Jessa vs Team Asaria This match, on paper, just like the other playoff match looks pretty straight forward. Team Jessa have beaten Team Asaria 10-0, 7-1 and 6-1 in this campaign and they’ll be hoping for another result like that come this Saturday. Team Asaria are a real Jekyll and Hyde story this season. Even after some heavy defeats they still managed to beat Team Sardar 1-0 and Team Jessa 4-1 in some good displays. Which Team Asaria will show up this Saturday? Team Jessa Key Men: Aqil Najafi – Aqil’s pace and shooting ability has made him a key player for Team Jessa this season. 21 goals and 5 man of the match awards sums that up nicely. Aqil will be a big threat if he is given a free run at goal. Arish Abdulrasul – Arish undoubtedly has great ball skill and can pick out a pass. He will have to be on his game, fully focussed if Team Jessa wants to win the playoff’s. Asif Somji – Most of Team Jessa’s creative play goes through Asif, little step overs and drag backs opens up the play for Asif to find that through ball. Team Asaria Key Men: Adam Asaria – The captain and joint top goalscorer for the team will need to put in a truly winning performance in the playoffs for Team Asaria to advance. Last season was given rookie of the year, but this season the defences know all about him and have been marking him closely. Taha Jaffer – The anchor man in the side, helps out the defence and midfield and is a true work horse in the Team Asaria midfield. He’ll have his work cut out for him against the Team Jessa midfield. Mohamed "Ice" Alibhai – Ice can expect to be very busy in the Team Asaria goal and will need to pull out a performance similar to the performance in the JSA playoff finals last year for Team Asaria to have a chance.
