Match Day 13 - Normal Service Resumed
12th March 2006

Normal service is resumed as the top 2 teams go marching on. Team Sardar kept their 8 point lead at the top with a 4-1 victory over Team Somji. 3 goals for Team Sardar in the last 10 minutes kept Team Sardar on track to win the league.

Team Jessa convincingly defeated Team Asaria 7-1 to record their first victory since the beginning of December 2005.

Please note that there are no games scheduled for next weekend (18th March) due to the Arbaeen program.

Team Sardar maintained their 8 point lead in the league with a comfortable 4-1 win over Team Somji.

It was Team Somji who had shown some signs of promise at the beginning and took the charge to stamp their mark on the game, however within the 7 minute mark, it was the prolific Abbas Hasham who put Team Sardar in front with one of his signature corner shots. Thereafter, it got a little physical, and there was no love lost between Hasham- aka Speedy and Hasham-aka Golden Boot. The rest of the half remained uneventful until the 19th minute when Mohamed Amir strategically placed himself inside the box and found he had so much time that he could have had a cup of chai and mandazi before hitting a hum-dinger of a shot. It seemed that it took a bounce like a yo-yo on the top post. However the referee had adjudged that the ball crossed over and pointed to the middle which meant the scores were tied at 1-1, and that is how the half ended.

Second half was more Team Sardar edging closer to the net and they took the lead through goal #22 from Abbas Hasham. Mujahid Rajani got into the action by netting #3 which took a nasty bounce off GK Somji. The rest of the game was uneventful until the last 10 seconds when Payam rifled in #4 with a low drive to the corner. And so the final score was 4-1 in favour to Team Sardar.
