| Match Day 7 - Team Jessa Spank Team Asaria! | 11th December 2005 |
|
An on-form Team Jessa spanked an unorganised Team Asaria 10–0 in a totally one sided affair. Team Jessa flew out of the blocks with 5 goals inside the first 10 minutes and then coasted through the rest of the game. Team Jessa’s goalkeeper Nadeem Kassam was virtually a spectator for the whole game and was only called in to action in the very last minute when he saved a penalty from Murtaza Kanji. Aqil Najafi scored a 5 minute hat-trick to get the 10-0 spanking underway, a brace from Mehboob Ajwani and goals from Asif Somji, Sajjad Najarali and a thunderous drive from Mazaher Rajani gave Team Jessa an 8-0 lead at half time. The crowd behind the Team Asaria goal were taunting Mohamed "Ice" Alibhai throughout the game and it only took 25 minutes to put him on tilt. Like a baby having a tantrum and wanting to throw his toys out of his pram, Mohamed "Ice" Alibhai stormed off the pitch threatening to quit the team and quit the league. After a five minute barrage of abuse towards his own players, a la Roy Keane, Mohamed "Ice" Alibhai took his place on the bench… we all know what happened to Roy. The second half started with Arif Asaria playing in goal for Team Asaria and to their credit Team Asaria fought hard in the second half even though they were eight goals behind only allowing Team Jessa two goals. Aqil Najafi scored his fourth of the game taking his tally up to 13, only one behind top goalscorer Abbas Hasham. Sajjad Najarali had the pleasure of putting the icing on the cake by putting away Team Jessa’s tenth goal of the game to complete the rout. Team Somji looked like they were going to cause an upset as they took a 3-1 lead over Team Sardar. Team Sardar kept their composure and brought the score back to 3-3 with two quick goals just before half time. Three goals in the second half gave Team Sardar all three points with a 6-4 win. Team Sardar are still chasing Team Jessa and are only 3 points behind. A hat-trick from Mehboob Alidina wasn’t enough to stop Team Sardar collecting all three points from the game. After going in to the half time break all square, goals from Payam Zahedi, Shan Sardar and Abbas Hasham made it 6-3 with 5 minutes to go. Mehboob Alidina scored his third of the game to make it 6-4 and give Team Somji a little hope, but Team Sardar saw the game out which keeps them in touch with league leaders Team Jessa. Abbas Hasham’s goal means he keeps his record of scoring in every game this season and keeps him on top of the goal scoring chart with 13 goals, joint with Aqil Najafi who bagged 4 against Team Asaria. Team Somji move to bottom of the fair play list after they picked up 2 more bookings. The ZFC season will re-start on Saturday, 14th January, 2006.
